South Sudan (Republic of): Japan helps South Sudan rebuild

One hundred and twenty Japanese engineers arrived in South Sudan this week to join the United Nations peacekeeping mission there in helping the young country build roads and bridges.

Infrastructural development is a top priority for South Sudan, which gained it's independence from Sudan in July. Years of civil war left the country with nearly a paved road or bridge.
